Getting around on the Lubbock Loop
State Route 289, also known as the Lubbock Loop, is the main way residents get around the city. “If you look at a map, you see this nice circle around us,” says Wendy Jones, a Realtor with Keller Williams Realty, who’s been selling homes in the area since 2006. “That is our loop, and it gets us everywhere we need to go.” U.S. Route 62 borders the neighborhood and runs into the heart of Lubbock. The Covenant Medical Center is 7 miles west, while Lubbock Preston Smith International Airport is 6 miles north.
Estacado High-Texas Tech University partnership
Students may start at Ervin Elementary, which gets a C from Niche, before going to Dunbar College Preparatory Academy, which also receives a C. Estacado High earns a B-minus and offers an early college program with Texas Tech University, a large public college less than 5 miles north.

And 3 miles north, Mackenzie Main City Park features wooded hiking trails, a public golf course and softball fields.
