Frasier is walkable neighborhood that once provided housing for aircraft plant employees
Frasier is a neighborhood next to downtown Marietta that has a range of housing options and is conveniently located less than a mile from the Marietta Square. “It’s a good neighborhood, you see a lot of people out walking,” says Cheryl Richardson, a Marietta city councilor who represents the neighborhood. Richardson said the neighborhood originally provided housing to workers at the Bell Bomber Plant, a government plant that produced military aircraft during World War II and was sold to Lockheed Martin after the war. Some of the area's older homes date to the war era, but newer homes have filled out the community, giving buyers a wide range of options.

Condos, townhomes and single-family homes
There are nearly 380 homes in the neighborhood, ranging from condos to 1940s bungalows to townhomes in gated communities. “You’ve got a mix of old houses with large front yards, the way it used to be, then you’ve got also new housing,” Richardson says. The newer construction began in 2007 before stalling because of the housing crisis. “But then it completely filled out,” she says. The community's smaller bungalows, typically with two or three bedrooms, list between $270,000 and $450,000. Larger, newer homes with three and four bedrooms, both single-family and attached townhomes, often list between $450,000 and $760,000. Some large single-family homes are currently under construction and expected to be ready in late 2025. Those are listed between $1.3 million and $1.5 million.

That same civic complex will soon have a veterans memorial to honor more than 60,000 veterans in the county. “It will become a destination point in Cobb County, I have no doubt,” Richardson says.
