Coral Way blends historic architecture with everyday conveniences

Coral Way is a Miami neighborhood defined by its towering banyan trees, which form a dense green canopy over the main boulevard. The area features a mix of architectural styles, from Mission Revival and Art Deco designs to 1920s bungalows and postwar homes. The main road is a bustling commercial corridor full of popular shops and restaurants, while residential streets make up the rest of the neighborhood. Recreation is also easy to find thanks to several parks that offer a wide variety of activities. The neighborhood offers a slower pace than nearby downtown districts while staying connected to the city's core.

Vintage homes, condos and townhouses on the market

Coral Way was developed in the early 1900s and features a mix of housing that reflects decades of growth from the 1920s to the 1960s. "That is the majority of the houses," says Ileana Rodriguez P.A. of RE/MAX Advance Realty II, who has been in real estate for some 40 years. "There are some new ones, but not that many." Live oaks and mahogany trees line the streets, giving the neighborhood a distinctly Florida feel. Ranch-style homes are common, but there are plenty of two-story houses in the neighborhood as well, and you'll see lots of Spanish- and Mediterranean-influenced designs typical of South Florida. Condos and townhouses are also prevalent, coming in a mix of contemporary and traditional styles. Many of the condos are in high-rise buildings with balconies and city skyline views. Prices vary depending on the type of home. Here is a typical breakdown:

  • Single-family homes range from the lower $500,000s to around $2.5 million
  • Townhouses can cost between the lower $900,000s and around $1.7 million
  • Condos fall between the lower $100,000s and the upper $500,000s.
