"The proximity to [Interstate 65] is nice, but we're also very close to the University of South Alabama if you want to go catch a game or visit campus." The university is about 5 miles away and it's less than 10 miles from the Shops at Schillinger, West Mobile's major shopping center.

Sidewalks line the neighborhood's roads, so residents can easily go on morning runs or walk their pets. On nearby North University Boulevard, the Walmart has an attached pharmacy for convenience. About 5 miles from Forest Highland, the Shops at Schillinger is a shopping center with big-box stores like Target and Lowe's, and for entertainment, an AMC Cinema and Bowlero bowling alley. The school also has career-focused academies for students who want to have a career in construction, allied health or business management.
