Morris Township, known locally as Prosperity, sits amidst the blanket of woods and farmlands that unfurls in Pennsylvania’s southwest region. Located 10 miles south of Washington, the rural enclave appeals to those looking to be off the grid while still having modern-day conveniences within reach. “Morris Township is a pretty small township out in the middle of nowhere — it’s so small, there isn’t even a stop sign, a traffic light or even a gas station,” says real estate agent Nicole Malesic of Realty One Group Gold Standard, who grew up in the area. “It’s like a dead zone, too. You don’t get an internet connection.” While residents can be unplugged, they’re still only 10 miles from Washington and about 16 miles from Waynesburg, where many people work, shop and play. “The township is conveniently located between highways 70 and 79, especially if you work in Waynesburg or Washington,” Malesic says.
