A desirable south Naperville subdivision
A scenic greenway runs through the neighborhood of Clow Creek and the more recent Clow Creek Farm Addition, both collections of custom homes in South Naperville. The community offers easy access to major commercial strips in the city, proximity to local and regional parks, as well as safety—the CAP Index gives the community the lowest possible overall crime score of 1/10. Listings are limited and multiple offers are poised on each home, but once a family gets their foot in the door, they show their dedication in a myriad of ways. “The way I always describe the neighborhood is that there’s lots of pride in ownership,” says Terri Christian with @properties, a decades-long Naperville resident and agent. “People take very nice care of their homes with beautiful landscaping.”

Colonial-style homes on the former Clow acres
Those who call Clow Creek home reside on land first purchased in 1844 by the Clows, a family of dairy farmers. Their legacy is honored in various ways throughout the neighborhood, from the remaining farmhouses and stone dwellings that dot the map to roads like Jersey and Ayershire, named for types of dairy cows. Dairymans Circle and Alfalfa Lane also harken back to the land’s previous usage. Today’s Clow Creek community includes colonial-style homes built in the 1990s with two-car garages ranging from 3,000 to 5,000 square feet. Meticulous landscaping creates cohesion between the homes, as to clean sidewalks leading to Kendall Elementary and local parks. Homes sell quickly after entering the market, with prices ranging from $550,000 to $760,000. Those interested in snagging a plot in the Clow Creek Farm Addition can visit the site in-person to select a model.

Getting around Naperville from Clow Creek
For some amenities, residents may not need to hop in the car. “It’s within walking distance to the local elementary, and it has two playgrounds right within the subdivision,” Christian says. “It's within 10 to 15 minutes to downtown Naperville, which is super fun. But most of the important stuff is car dependent. There’s also a PACE bus that takes residents to the Route 59 train station.” The bus operates six days a week from the station on Hassert Blvd & Illinois Route 59 for the 8-mile journey. The Route 59 Metra station has service to Chicago’s Union Station on weekdays and includes plenty of commuter parking. Drivers to Chicago have a 38-mile daily commute on Interstates 88 and 290 in store. Residents are also equidistant from Chicago Midway International Airport and Chicago O’Hare International Airport at about 33 miles in either direction.
