"The majority of people living in the private communities are retirees," says Barry Eisenberg, a Naples resident and seasoned Realtor with Premiere Plus Realty. "There's plenty of shopping and restaurants close by." Home prices typically fall well below the rest of the Naples metro area. The neighborhood contains several RV parks and manufactured homes communities. There is also room for development. National builder Mattamy Homes is spearheading the construction of 250 houses on a 65-acre property. Belle Meade has a CAP Index Crime Score of 2 out of 10, lower than the national average of 4.

Belle Meade has a varied streetscape, from Mediterranean-inspired houses in gated subdivisions and manufactured home communities to resort-style developments. Most dwellings are on lots of a quarter of an acre or less. Some properties have enough space to accommodate private boats and kayaks, and a handful of subdivisions offer storage for personal watercrafts. Most locals travel by car; however, Collier Area Transit is available along the highway. The Physicians Regional Healthcare System operates a hospital around 5 miles away on Collier Boulevard. Downtown Naples is about a 10-mile drive from the neighborhood.
