Mount Vernon
Charming colonials, split-levels and ranch-style homes
Mount Vernon consists of small gridded subdivisions and cul-de-sacs. Lots tend to be larger here than downtown, with many homes built on a quarter-acre or more. "The residential areas are charming— along the boulevards, most properties consist of smaller colonials and bungalows, as well as a couple of ranch-style homes," says Darcy Friel, a Howard Hanna real estate agent and Stark County native. Split levels and farmhouses with features such as wraparound porches are also common. Residences typically have paved driveways, attached garages and well-maintained front lawns dotted with trees and shrubbery. Prices typically range from $160,000 to $300,000.Mornings on the range
