The district divides its students among 11 elementary schools, like Ocean Avenue Elementary, before sending them to three middle schools, such as Thorne Middle, and then finally to two high schools. At Middletown High School North, students can earn an associate’s degree from Brookdale Community College while earning their high school diploma. High school students can also apply to one of Monmouth County's five specialty high schools focusing on communications, health sciences, biotechnology, marine science and engineering.
