Variety of houses close to schools and restaurants
Windsor Heights is one of the larger and older neighborhoods of Odessa. Before the 1960s, the neighborhood was part of the booming oil industry. Today, its streets provide clues to its history. "There is such variation in Windsor Heights," says Earl Anderson, a real estate agent with Heritage Real Estate who has lived in Odessa for nearly 50 years. "One block, you see homes from the boom times, and the next (block) is from after." The oil industry continues to be a prominent employer in the Permian Basin, with many well-kept houses that remain valuable. Windsor Heights also stands out for its proximity to schools, Winwood Town Center and local parks. "It is a very convenient area; there is everything you need," Anderson says.

Brick ranch-style homes built in the mid-1900s
Although there is variation throughout, many Windsor Heights homes share similar architectural styles. "Up until around the 1990s, they were all brick ranchers," Anderson says. "Then we saw more raised ranches, but brick ranch is still the dominant style." Prices typically range from around $150,000 for an investment property needing renovations to around $400,000 for a larger, ranch style on a nearly 10,000-square-foot lot with an attached garage and driveway. Roadways throughout the neighborhood accommodate street parking and sidewalks. Some areas near the northern part of the community are filled with oak trees, while others feature a handful of smaller trees scattered throughout.
