The Fairfield neighborhood has wooded lots full of lush green trees.
A growing community
Fairfield's wide, gridded, tree-lined streets reveal clean, well-kept homes with expansive front yards. Not all roads have sidewalks, but this doesn't stop residents from taking walks or riding bikes. This Paducah community began in the '70s and continues to grow. Fairfield's draw is its proximity to highly rated schools, downtown retail shopping and Interstate 24. "People move here because it's close to the Kentucky Oaks Mall, which provides local employment," says Nancy Upchurch, executive assistant for the Paducah planning department and a resident since 1972.
