Limited inventory keeps the local housing market moving
Homes farther inland are usually midcentury split-level and ranch-style homes, with prices ranging from the low $300,000s to the low $500,000s. Some of the village’s most desirable and expensive properties are custom-built lake houses, often with private docks and prices that can climb as high as $1.2 million. Condos and duplexes are also common, generally selling anywhere from the high $100,000s to the low $700,000s depending on size and community amenities.
Pewaukee Village has a competitive housing market with limited inventory. “There are a lot of people who want to buy here,” says Jennifer Roach, owner of Bluebell Realty, who adds, “Houses sell pretty fast.” The average value of a Pewaukee Village home is in the mid-$400,000s, which is generally lower than in nearby communities like Lisbon, Pewaukee and Sussex, but higher than Waukesha.

Inland homes are typically more midcentury-inspired.

A close-knit school community with a history of success
The Pewaukee School District places all its public schools on a single campus, covering pre-kindergarten through 12th-grade in the same general area. Pewaukee High School has an A from Niche and offers Advanced Placement courses along with French, Spanish and Mandarin Chinese. “They've gone to a ton of state championships with their sports teams, which is absolutely incredible for such a small community,” says Roach, who adds, “We put out a banner in our front lawn when they go to state championships, and I feel like we're putting it out all the time.”
Pewaukee Lake Elementary School is a highly-rated elementary school in Pewaukee Village.
Pewaukee Village students can attend Horizon Elementary School for grades three through five.
All local public schools share a courtyard.

Beaches, boating and trails offer ways to get outside
Lakefront Park - Pewaukee features a sandy public beach for swimming and sunbathing. Boaters can access the nearly 2,500-acre lake from public launches or local marinas. “People can take their boats and dock them to go to the restaurants. That's super fun, too,” says Roach. Away from the water, Pewaukee Kiwanis Village Park runs along the Pewaukee River with playgrounds and athletic courts. Simmons Woods Park covers about 50 acres with looping trails and a boardwalk winding through marshland.

Major highways and a paved trail connect the area
Wisconsin Highway 16 runs through the community, while Interstate 94 is just south of the village, connecting the area to Milwaukee, about 20 miles away. Cyclists can take advantage of the Lake Country Trail, a 15-mile paved path that follows a former railway line through the region.
