What draws buyers to Pewaukee's lakeside location
Located on the shores of Pewaukee Lake less than 20 miles from Milwaukee, Pewaukee combines waterfront views with the conveniences of daily life. Buyers are drawn to the area's top-rated school district, waterfront activities and easy highway access. With shopping centers and restaurants nearby and annual community events throughout the year, Pewaukee offers plenty to do while holding on to its small-town feel.

From inland subdivisions to premium lakefront homes
Pewaukee’s median build year falls in the mid-2010s, which reflects the city’s steady growth and continued development. Inland neighborhoods like Springdale Estates and Valley Brook feature contemporary colonial and ranch-style homes that typically range from the low $400,000s to the mid-$500,000s. However, the community is best known for its lakeside houses, where prices can reach as much as $1.7 million. “Lakefront property is the premium,” says Beth Jaworski, a Realtor with Shorewest Realtors. Condominium options range from the high $100,000s for multi-family units to the mid-$700,000s for modern duplexes and detached models. Pewaukee’s overall median sale price is generally in the low $500,000s, putting it on par with Brookfield, higher than Waukesha and lower than Lisbon.

Lake recreation spans boating, fishing and water ski shows
At nearly 2,500 acres, Pewuakee Lake is a huge part of outdoor life in the area. Boating, kayaking and wake surfing fill the water in warmer months, and the sandy beach at Lakefront Park draws swimmers. From Memorial Day through Labor Day, the Pewaukee Lake Water Ski Club puts on free themed shows every Thursday. The lake also draws anglers year-round. “And there's more ice fishing in the winter than anything else,” says Jaworski. Beyond the lake, Wagner Park has courts for tennis, basketball and volleyball. The Pewaukee River Parkway follows the river through a roughly 220-acre conservation area of wetlands and unmarked trails.
Public parks are popular year round.
