The neighborhood is comprised of several high-end subdivisions, some of which are gated and surround the manmade Lake Stanley. The Lakeridge Golf Course is the hub of the neighborhood, a semi-private course that offers beautiful views of Reno, the surrounding mountains, and Lake Stanley. The course is known for its 15th hole, where golfers tee off from a ridge and aim for the hole located on an island in the lake. The lake is accessible to residents in the gated Lakeridge Shores and Carriage House subdivisions for boating, fishing, and water sports. According to Brent Copeland, a Reno resident and Realtor with the Nevada Real Estate Group, “You’ll see canoers and kayakers out on this lake daily.” Everyone can enjoy the Bartley Ranch Regional Park, located just minutes from home. With more than 50 acres of space to sprawl, little ones and adults alike can burn off excess energy on the pastures or trails. In the summer, the open-air Robert Z. Hawkins Amphitheater hosts events like plays and concerts. On rainy days, Round1 Bowling & Arcade offers bowling, billiards, and karaoke. Bordered by mountains to the west and south and the golf course to the east, the views in Lakeridge won’t disappoint. To maintain the area’s neat appearance, the power lines have been buried and there are many beautiful trees and perfectly landscaped lawns. Most of the houses there are situated on lots averaging just under .2 acres. Condominiums, townhomes, and single-family homes comprise most of the dwellings in this neighborhood’s subdivisions. “This is an upscale older neighborhood with older homes,” says Reno-based Realtor David Tully of LPT Realty — so renovations may be something buyers may want to factor in. The average home’s cost is about $907,000, with two-bedroom homes starting around $500,000 and premium waterfront real estate on Lake Stanley selling for more than $2 million.
Lakeridge is within 2 miles of Virginia Street, a busy commercial thoroughfare that has all the essentials covered, from groceries at Trader Joe’s to clothes and apparel at Meadowood Mall. There is also no shortage of great places to eat around the area. The Lakeside Bar & Grill specializes in breakfast, lunch, and dinner comfort foods like their savory meatloaf and garlic mashed potatoes. After your meal, you can head over to the Great Basin Brewing Co. for a craft beer or the Icecycle Creamery for a sundae or shake.
Lakeridge students attend schools in the Washoe County School District. Busy parents will love Huffaker Elementary School’s after-school program, “Judy’s Kidz.” While parents are hard at work, their kids are having fun playing Capture the Flag, board games, Ghost in the Graveyard, and other fun activities. Niche gives the school an overall B-plus rating. Students typically then go on to Edward L Pine Middle School, rated B-minus, and Reno High School, rated A. Reno High is home to some of the most prestigious art programs in the area, including animation, web design, graphic design, video production and photography.
Convenience counts — it only takes a short 5-mile drive to get to the Reno-Tahoe International Airport or the heart of downtown Reno. The city’s public transportation system doesn’t reach Lakeridge, so folks should expect to get around by car.
