Rhodesdale offers rural living on the Eastern Shore
Rhodesdale's residents live in rustic rural homes beside acres of rolling farmland, just beyond the Delaware border to the east. "You've got a mixed clientele. We have a lot of first-time homebuyers who grew up in the North Dorchester area," says Mary Mabry, an Eastern Shore native and 23-year real estate agent with Keller Williams Select Realtors of Annapolis. "Rhodesdale doesn't feel commercialized; that laidback country feel is very attractive." Locals often drive to towns like Seaford, in Delaware, or Cambridge and Federalsburg for a bite to eat or a shopping trip. It's also popular to visit nearby riverside parks along the Nanticoke River or the Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge.

Cambridge is 15 miles away, with a Walmart and an Aldi along U.S. Route 50 and restaurants like Butter and Grace Comfort Food, which serves fried fish, wings and Salisbury steaks.

U.S. Route 50 leads to Salisbury, and beach in Maryland and Delaware
Due to Rhodesdale's secluded nature, locals are dependent on personal vehicles. "It's within fifteen minutes of shopping for groceries or entertainment, and sixty minutes to the beaches," says Mabry. Salisbury is a 23-mile drive south on Route 50, where residents can catch a flight from Salisbury Regional Airport. Popular vacation destinations like Ocean City or Rehoboth Beach in Delaware are about fifty miles from the community. Easton is also 24 miles north. Located just south of Route 50 along the Nanticoke River, the University of Maryland—Shore Medial Center is a full-service medical facility that provides 24-hour medical services.
