Jackson Oaks’ primary thoroughfare, East State Street, connects the neighborhood to downtown Rockford to the west and additional residential areas to the immediate east. Residents are about 2 miles east of the city center and 90 miles northwest of Chicago. For local public transit needs, Rockford Mass Transit District (RMTD) provides stops along Rural Street on the north side and Ninth and State street on the south side. The nearest hospital, UW Health SwedishAmerican Hospital, is immediately south of the neighborhood on State Street.
