Major metropolises like Chicago are seldom associated with affordable housing for first-time buyers, but those who dream of their own lawns and their own land can find accessible prices in Wespark. Those looking to escape the cycle of leases or the commotion of Chicago find themselves in this quiet southwest suburb. Between 40 and 50 minutes from the Windy City, Wespark is a neighborhood in the Village of Romeoville, a few miles west of Lewis University. Families use sidewalks to trot to two neighborhood parks on sunny weekend days, and two major grocers enclose the neighborhood, making shopping for a family quick and easy.

Wespark parks make family life fun

Amateur fishermen wait patiently for a bite at the pond in Century Park; if they’re extra lucky, they may catch a glimpse of a graceful wading bird in the distance. Century Park, with its two baseball fields, a basketball court and a playground in the north of the neighborhood, is a family favorite once the weekend rolls around. In the south, there’s Discovery Park and its football fields, volleyball and basketball courts, little league soccer games and playground. “Each subdivision has parks, basketball courts and different things for kids to do,” says local broker Marla Good with Keller Williams Preferred Realty.
