On the banks of Tampa Bay, just 6 miles north of downtown St. Petersburg via 62nd Avenue, is Mariners Pass. “I would call it a very well-established, older community,” says Debbie Momberg, who has 15 years of experience in the area with Smith & Associates Real Estate. “These are, for the most part, extremely well-maintained townhomes with detached homes sprinkled in.” Bordered on the west by 16th Street and the bay on the east, Mariners Pass is an extremely narrow neighborhood, and for this reason, there’s not much room between properties.

Locals head to Northeast Mini Park to have a picnic under the shade of the palm trees. The park features playground equipment for kids to explore. Just to the west of Mariners Pass is Mangrove Bay and Cypress Links Golf Club. Mangrove Bay provides a challenging full championship 18-hole course with a fully stocked Pro Shop and snack bar. Beginners or golfers looking to sneak in a round before the sun goes down can head to Cypress Links, which is a nine-hole par 3 course. The Northeast Little League Complex is right near the golf courses and offers three full fields with lights, a pair of batting cages and a playground for children of all ages.

Three-bedroom townhomes in the waterfront community are available for nearly $600,000. Detached homes start slightly over $400,000 and range up to $650,000. Homes along the water have private docks for direct boating access to the bay. “One concern I tell people about this neighborhood is, with the proximity to the water, there will be some flooding, and that will drive up insurance prices,” says Momberg. The entire neighborhood is easily walkable, and with small yards and community green spaces, it is a great place to walk a pet. The homes are set away from 16th Street, and there is virtually no traffic in the neighborhood, with the exception of people pulling in and out of their driveways.
