More space on the outskirts of San Angelo
Streets in Glenmore are organized in a neat network of grids, splitting into subdivisions that abut the Air Force base and neighboring Belaire community. As the neighborhood spans south, roads and properties become more spread out, lending more of a sparse suburban feel. Property sizes are bigger on the outskirts, with many residences situated on larger lots than are typically found closer to the city center. Residential lots also become more dispersed, as the properties on Glenmore’s outer fringes are often warehouses and construction businesses. The increased space appeals to homebuyers looking for a quieter lifestyle: “It’s more peaceful than closer to downtown,” Biera says. Ranch-style homes comprise most of the housing stock here, ranging in size and architectural influences. Many have stone or brick facades, while others imbue Craftsman inspirations with vinyl siding and bracket details. Prices typically range from $120,000 to $420,000, while larger estates in the Windwood subdivision along the river may range from $600,000 up to $1.2 million.
Many ranch homes in Glenmore include features like fireplaces, large windows, and attached garages.
