North San Angelo neighborhood experiencing change
On the other side of U.S. Route 277 from downtown San Angelo is Reagan, a neighborhood experiencing a lot of change. “There’s an outrageous amount of new development over there,” says John Biera, a Realtor with Coldwell Banker Legacy. “A lot of older homes are being bought and fixed up.” The neighborhood has become popular because of its prices. “Affordability is a big plus in that area,” says Janet Ridgway, a Realtor with ERA Newlin & Company Home and Land Group. Reagan’s proximity to downtown San Angelo, its nearby parks and quality schools also add to the area’s appeal.
From 1950s cottages and ranch-style homes to new-construction

These homes have sold for between $165,000 and $300,000. Reagan is a walkable neighborhood, but with many amenities outside the neighborhood, residents typically rely on cars to get around. As for crime, the CAP Index gave Reagan a crime score of 4 out of 10, on par with the national average.
