"In Edgemere, you're looking at a lot of homes from the late '50s and early '60s," says David D'Arcy, Realtor with Seaport Real Estate, who has sold many homes in the area. "So, there are a lot of three-bedroom, one-bathroom and three-bedroom, two-bathroom ranchers." Lot sizes are typically modest, and houses have been renovated to varying degrees. Depending on size, age and condition, prices generally range from the high $200,000s to the low $400,000s. Edgemere is known for its relative affordability compared to nearby neighborhoods, with a median single-family home price about $200,000 lower than in Parkside or Ardmore-Gould Estates-Olin Heights and $400,000 lower than in Ardsley Park-Chatham Crescent.

“It’s 10 to 15 minutes from downtown, and 10 to 15 minutes from Midtown shopping areas, where there are grocery stores and restaurants, so ease of access to anywhere is a draw,” Dole says. “You could even bike a lot of places.”
