Cactus Corridor gives residents spacious, luxury living in a rural environment that was once a heavily equestrian community. Many homes sit on acre-plus lots with mountain views and without HOA restrictions, even though some are in gated communities. The Scottsdale area has nearby trails to explore and plenty of restaurants to try. Its combination of open space and a location close to popular amenities gives the area a feeling that's hard to find elsewhere in the city.
What people often pay for large estates and ranch-style homes
Cactus Corridor is made up of several subdivisions. Some are gated, and many of them have spacious Mediterranean Revival-inspired estates from the 1980s and 1990s, with details like orange and brown tile roofs. There are also communities with smaller ranch-style homes and newer custom builds. Many properties sit on lots exceeding an acre, providing room for equestrian facilities, guest houses, sports courts and RV access. Houses up to 3,500 square feet can range from the upper $400,000s to more than $3.5 million, and larger homes often run from roughly $1.5 million to nearly $8 million. Most homes do not fall under an HOA, which is unlike other parts of Scottsdale. The community tends to be more expensive than surrounding areas like McDowell Mountain Ranch, Scottsdale Ranch and Via Linda Corridor. The community's roads are lined with palms and other dry-climate trees. Front lawns are mostly filled with stones, but some have patches of turf as well as small bushes. Main thoroughfares like East Cholla Street have views of nearby mountains.
It's easy to get around the region
Getting around Cactus Corridor is easiest by car. State Route 101 runs just west of the area and connects to other cities in the Phoenix metro area. Old Town Scottsdale, home to many of the city’s top restaurants and its entertainment district, is about 12 miles away, a drive that can take 15-30 minutes depending on traffic. Valley Metro buses stop in the neighborhood but don’t have direct routes to Old Town Scottsdale. Downtown Phoenix is roughly 25 miles away, or a 30-50 minute drive.
Mountain trails, golf courses and sports fields are nearby
The nearby Cholla Park includes a lighted baseball field, a sand volleyball court and eight lighted pickleball courts. A playground and reservable picnic areas round out the space. Scottsdale Ranch Park & Tennis Center gives athletes even more space to play. A short drive away, McDowell Sonoran Preserve contains more than 200 miles of trails open for hiking, biking and horseback riding. They range from easy walks to challenging summit climbs. TPC Scottsdale offers public tee times for its two 18-hole golf courses, and there are several other regional courses to play. You can visit WestWorld of Scottsdale to attend equestrian events, concerts and car shows.
You can attend festivals in Old Town Scottsdale
Residents can head to Old Town Scottsdale for year-round fun. The area’s most popular events include Canal Convergence, a festival at the Scottsdale Waterfront each November. The 10-day celebration brings together art and light installations, live music and family-friendly activities. Scottsdazzle, a winter holiday event, combines movie nights, scavenger hunts, farmers markets and other festive fun in late November and December.
