Small-town living next to some of St. George's most popular parks
In Diamond Valley, home to approximately 1,200 people, it's common to look out the window and see horses grazing and the snowcapped Pine Valley Mountains in the distance. “It's a really small town. There are some bigger lots there. It’s a bit cooler and a short drive to St. George, only about 10 minutes away — and a really pretty drive,” says Realtor Jake Peart, who works with KW St. George Keller Williams Realty and has over a decade of experience in the area. Diamond Valley ascends toward the mountains and, due to the higher elevation, experiences milder summers than the city, which allows residents to spend more time in nature throughout the year. Some of the area’s nearby recreation includes a cinder cone volcano trail, a state park and a national reserve known for red rock cliffs.
Plenty of outdoor recreation, including Diamond Valley Cinder Cone Trail and Snow Canyon State Park
One of the main draws to Diamond Valley is an active lifestyle closely entwined with nature. "There’s lots of hiking, outdoors, Jeep trails and it’s close to a golf course,” Peart says. Right in the community, the Diamond Valley Cinder Cone Trail treks to the top of an extinct volcano. Snow Canyon State Park is adjacent to Diamond Valley on its southwest side. The park’s activities include biking and rock climbing among lava tubes and petrified sand dunes. On the community’s southeast side is the Red Cliffs National Conservation Area, a reserve with waterfalls and dinosaur footprints. The Ledges of St. George, 5 miles south of Diamond Valley, has a semiprivate 18-hole course with views of Snow Canyon State Park and the Pine Valley Mountains. Closer to home, Diamond Valley Park is walkable from homes in the north side of the neighborhood and has a green space and a few sports facilities. There's also a large open space in the very middle of the neighborhood crisscrossed by dirt trails, perfect for a bit of exercise.
Snow Canyon State Park attracts visitors year long for hikes, views and camping.
Diamond Valley locals can go to the Black Desert Golf Course when driving down south.
