West Trumbull, locally known as St. Theresa, is a residential neighborhood that prides itself on its well-rounded lifestyle in southern Connecticut. Anchored by St. Theresa Church, the community is defined by its classic New England architecture and suburban atmosphere outside of Trumbull. “Homes have a lot of charm here,” says local sales associate Fredda Takacs of Coldwell Banker Realty, adding that the close-knit quarters foster the neighborhood’s sense of community. “There’s a more cohesive feel because people are closer together, which makes it friendlier and especially makes trick-or-treating easier.” West Trumbull also has a CAP Index Crime Score of 2 out of a possible 10, lower than the national average of 4.

Colonial and Cape Cod homes on smaller suburban lots

The neighborhood has a suburban feel due to homes being strung together closely on its residential streets. “Lots have a smaller dimension on average, closer to a quarter to half an acre,” Takacs says. Architecture reflects the New England community; colonial-style and Cape Cod homes are most common, with a few minimalistic ranch and raised ranch styles peppered in. Price tags for single-family homes typically start at around $400,000. As square footage increases, so do prices, with homes over 2,500 square feet starting in the $600,000s. The largest homes can reach about $650,000, and some outliers include more expansive, luxury builds fetching up to $1 million.
