The neighborhood has a suburban feel due to homes being strung together closely on its residential streets. “Lots have a smaller dimension on average, closer to a quarter to half an acre,” Takacs says. Architecture reflects the New England community; colonial-style and Cape Cod homes are most common, with a few minimalistic ranch and raised ranch styles peppered in. Price tags for single-family homes typically start at around $400,000. As square footage increases, so do prices, with homes over 2,500 square feet starting in the $600,000s. Trumbull Public Schools serves West Trumbull residents, earning an overall A score from Niche. Students may begin at Frenchtown Elementary School, which gets an A-minus. Takacs says the elementary school is a draw for families: “Frenchtown is the newest school in Trumbull and so the area is really popular for that.” Kids can continue to the A-minus-rated Madison Middle School before advancing to Trumbull High School, which maintains an A score. The high school is known for its strong academics, college readiness and competitive athletic program. Parents may also opt to enroll their kids in top-rated private and faith-based schools such as Christian Heritage School and St Andrew School, which both maintain A-plus ratings on Niche.
