Pinecrest offers both suburban charm and city access in central Tuscan
Pinecrest is in the heart of Tucson, offering both urban convenience and peaceful living. The subdivision is close to schools, lively shopping centers and a wide range of recreational destinations. “I would say it’s a prime location,” says Allie Pastore, Realtor and owner of The Alder Group with over 5 years of experience. “You are hyper local and close to some of the best restaurants in the city. There are local parks you can visit. It could also feel tight knit; you’ll see people walking their dogs and we knew all our neighbors. It’s really an active community, and there are tons of things to do.”

Midcentury homes in desert hues dot the landscape
Most homes in Pinecrest were built in the latter half of the 20th century, giving the neighborhood an established feel with a cohesive architectural character. Rows of stone and brick houses line gridded street blocks, creating a warm desert palette of beige, brown and terra-cotta orange. The community is known for midcentury modern and ranch-style homes. Landscaping typically includes drought-tolerant plants and mature trees that provide shade. Some larger homes can have quarter-acre lots and outdoor pools. “The area is full of older, 1950s to 1970s homes with character,” Pastore says. “It’s well established, and people have lived there for a long time. Another thing is there’s still room for affordability, and it’s a good entry point for a starter home or to become a homeowner.” Single-family homes usually sell from $200,000 to $500,000, and townhouses are between $250,000 and $300,000.

Zayna Mediterranean Restaurant serves Middle Eastern dishes. Grocery shopping is just as convenient, with Trader Joe’s, Sprouts and the Mexican market Carnicería Los Toritos all nearby. Big-box stores like Target and Walmart are located less than 5 miles south of the neighborhood.

For cyclists, Pinecrest has easy access to the Tucson Loop.” This loop is a paved recreational trail that circles the city and spans 131 miles.
