Tucked into the valley west of Mount Lemon and Mica Mountain, Western Hills offers convenient access to all the nearby amenities Tucson has to offer. With access to Interstates 10 and 19 just a few minutes south of the neighborhood, commuters can get to Tucson with relative ease or head south to the Mexican border in minutes.

The primary school earns a C-plus from Niche. The C-minus-rated Utterback Middle School is another option that offers nine different electives for students to choose from that range from dance to Lego tech to the AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) program, which is designed to increase college graduation rates and help develop career skills. Catalina High, rated a C-plus, is a magnet school named after the Santa Catalina Mountains that features a robust sports program.
Willie Blake Park and nearby trails support active lifestyles
Willie Blake Community Park where cardio equipment and soccer fields are the perfect place to get a good workout in, either solo or in a pickup game with friends. Walkers, joggers and cyclists will love the easy access to the Santa Cruz walk/bike path. The El Paso and Southwestern Greenway is another nearby option for walkers and bikers, and although somewhat short, the trail will continue to grow and link up with the former El Paso & Southwestern Railroad corridor in an effort to connect downtown Tucson with South Tucson via a 6-mile route.

Dutch Bro’s Coffee serves iced green tea and cold brews to energy drinks and chocolate crunch freeze. First Watch has unique breakfast creations with dishes like cinnamon spice churros, pumpkin pancake breakfast and harvest hash. Satisfy your carnivorous cravings at Rudy’s Country Store and Bar-BQ, where there’s plenty of brisket and ribs to go around. Residents can fulfill all of their grocery needs at the nearby Costco and Walmart.
Kino Sports Complex hosts tournaments and community events
The Kino Sports Complex is one of the top amenities near this neighborhood and the largest sports venue in Southern Arizona. Hosting sports tournaments to business events, the complex is also home to the FC Tucson Soccer Club. The Desert Diamond Cup tournament and the Gem and Mineral show take place annually. Plenty of youth and amateur sports leagues use the facility as well.
Accessible transportation options
With easy access to Interstate 10, it’s a quick drive 3 miles northwest to Downtown Tucson and 5 miles south to the Tucson International Airport.
