Homes in Shoultes are organized on winding streets, and most have both front and backyards. Many houses were built in the 1960s, with new waves of construction in the 1990s and 2010s. A three-bedroom ranch-style house built in 1969 begins around $550,000, while a five-bedroom two-story home built in 2015 starts around $725,000. “There’s hardly been any new construction lately,” Knibbe says. “Lots of owners have been there many years taking care of each other. Neighbors look out for each other.”Strawberry Fields forever
Shoultes is home to the Strawberry Fields Athletic Complex, which features a soccer field, a barbecue shelter and several miles of nature trails. The complex also has an off-leash dog park where four-legged friends can play in the grass. Just across the street from Strawberry Fields, the Armar Trailhead of the Centennial Trail beckons. This 30-mile trail snakes all the way south to the Snohomish River, passing by the Trails End Taphouse on its way.Schooling in Shoultes

When not headed into Seattle, locals enjoy all that Marysville has to offer. “The Strawberry Festival and Parade in Marysville is a big deal,” Knibbe says. “It’s a weekend event with all sorts of fun stuff. There are activities for the kids, a car show, contests and just lots more.” The Strawberry Festival has been an area tradition since 1932, taking place over three days in July.Interstate 5
Shoultes residents have easy access to Interstate 5, connecting them 6.5 miles to downtown Marysville. The Tulalip Casino and Quil Ceda Creek Casino can both be found along this route. I-5 continues on 40 miles south to Seattle and 51 miles to Seattle-Tacoma International Airport.Shopping at Seattle Premium Outlets
Residents can visit the local Fred Meyer on 100th Street to shop for groceries. “There’s not a lot of retail in the neighborhood,” Knibbe says. “But you’re 4 miles from Costco, Target, Walmart – all the necessities.” Residents are also only 3.5 miles from Seattle Premium Outlets, a massive shopping center featuring over 125 designer outlet stores and the Ram Restaurant and Brewery. A local favorite is the Bonefish Grill, a national chain that has taken up residence along Highway 531. “Bonefish is great,” Knibbe adds. “Every time my wife and I have cause to celebrate, that’s where we go.”Continuing after tragedy at Marysville Pillchuck High
In 2014, Marysville Pillchuck High School was rocked by a devastating shooting that claimed the lives of five students. The incident made national news, prompting calls for an end to gun violence in schools and nationwide support for the grieving community.
