"It’s a big reason for why people move here." Wooden boardwalks and trails through the trees make for scenic views around town. Bayside is also near the Joint Expeditionary Base–Little Creek, for those in the military. Students can attend school within the highly rated Virginia Beach City Public Schools district and spend their weekends outside at the Lake Lawson/Lake Smith Natural Area. It’s worth mentioning that many Bayside homes are primarily brick ranch-style homes built between the 1940s and 1950s. Three-bedroom ranch-style homes can range between $280,000 and $350,000, where some have been fully renovated, and others maintain their historical features. Residents also live in Colonial-inspired suburban homes with attached two-car garages, which can cost around $500,000. Bayside Recreation Center includes several opportunities for exercise and sports and includes a youth game room and indoor playground. Bayside also hugs the Cypress Point Country Club, which offers public and member tee times, a pool, and the Cypress Bar & Grill.
