Washington, a small-town community in northwestern New Jersey, comprises two distinct areas: Washington Township and the smaller Washington Borough. Established in 1849, Washington Township predates the independent incorporation of Washington Borough in 1868. While each has unique school districts and histories, they share similar amenities. It’s so warm and welcoming. It’s very open with lots of farmland, and you’re centralized to Philly and New York,” says Lori Finnegan, Treasurer of the Washington Community Garden for the last 15 years.
