Open spaces at lower prices in Wawayanda

Wawayanda, in the western part of New York's Orange County, offers rolling hill and access to New York City and other nearby cities. “Typically, unless you grew up out there, you’re not looking for the city lifestyle,” says Colleen Cushman, a real estate agent with Keller Williams Realty who has sold in the area. Town residents have more space at a lower price than New York City while having access to the more populous Middletown, 5 miles away, for shopping, dining and entertainment. “The suburban lifestyle leads to a more community-based environment,” says Cushman. The Orange County Fair in Middletown brings locals and other county residents together to enjoy live entertainment and vendors. Wawayanda offers an escape from the crowded atmosphere and small spaces of urban environments.

Single-family homes with in-ground pools and detached garages

Some homes have in-ground pools and detached garages with long driveways leading to the street. ranches and split-levels range from $310,000 to $490,000, while contemporary farmhouses and Colonial Revivals range from $500,000 to $740,000.
