Suburban homes from the 1980s
Homes in the Tintes neighborhood offer large footprints and spacious outdoor areas. Connected by long sidewalks, most homes feature tidy front lawns and fenced-in backyards, so folks have enough room to tend to a garden or play with pets outside. In appearance, the neighborhood has a mix of split-level and traditional homes, which feature brick facades, vinyl siding, and double-wide garages. Unique details like bay or dormer windows also add individual character to the homes, which were primarily built in the late '80s and early '90s. Homes in Tintes are a bit more expensive than older neighborhoods in the area, but price points are still varied. Most homes sell from about $265,000 to $450,000 dollars.

Both schools earn a B rating on Niche and West Fargo High offers a full suite of AP courses.

Locally-owned shopping and dining on 13th Avenue
Just north of the neighborhood on 13th Avenue, folks can find everything from a Family Fare Supermarket to the local Walmart Supercenter, as well as a selection of locally-owned restaurants and businesses. For a sweet treat with the family or a warm drink in the morning, Vampire Penguin is one a nearby option that sells coffee, pastries and shaved "snow." "We also make things family-friendly with a kids' corner and storybooks to read. A lot of families will come, grab a board game, and stay a while," says manager Amanda Hoeft. For a larger meal, HuHot Mongolian Grill has a comfortable atmosphere and all-you-can-eat stir-fry, while the Spitfire Bar & Grill offers wood-fired steak and chicken entrees with outdoor seating.

Neighborhood parks within walking distance
Another highlight of the Tintes neighborhood is its proximity to local outdoor spaces. Maplewood Park is situated right in the neighborhood, with walking paths leading straight from homes to the park. In addition to an outdoor ice rink and a sledding hill that many use during the winter, this recently renovated park also features an expansive playground with a hot-air balloon structure and swings for kids to play on. Older kids and adults can also try hanging, jumping and climbing along the park's obstacle course. For something more laid-back, a system of walking and biking paths wind through the neighborhoods to the west of Tintes, leading to a playground at Charleswood Park and a man-made lake.

Community events in West Fargo
West Fargo's community also shows its collaborative spirit, when residents come together for local events like Cruise Night or concerts at The Lights. "It really adds to the community feel," says Whetsel. Cruise Night, held every third Thursday of the month during summer, is a local car-show of sorts, where residents can showcase their antique vehicles. The event also highlights local businesses along Sheyenne Avenue while also creating an opportunity for friends to gather and enjoy a night out.

Getting around the Tintes area
Halfway between Interstate 94 and Main Avenue, Tintes is centrally located within West Fargo. Downtown Fargo is also just over 5 miles away along Main Avenue, so folks can get there, by car, in about 15 minutes. When traveling out of state, Hector International Airport is just a few miles north of downtown. Or in the case of a medical emergency, Sanford Medical Center is just over a mile to the south.
