Rosedale has proximity to transportation and downtown White Plains
Rosedale, 25 miles from Manhattan, is a primarily suburban area near the Hutchinson River Parkway. The neighborhood is favored for its proximity to transportation and downtown White Plains. “It’s located close to downtown White Plains, which has restaurants and a movie theater. You’re also a short drive from the train station,” says Cedric Smith, an associate broker and team leader at Howard Hannah Rand Realty with 11 years of experience. “People live there for a long time.” Rosedale is 4 miles from downtown White Plains, close enough that traveling to shopping centers and the train station takes less than 15 minutes, but far enough out that residents can enjoy larger lot sizes. “The neighborhood is within the city of White Plains, a neighborhood where the lot sizes are a little larger than other parts of the city,” says Ann Marie Damashek, an associate broker with Compass Greater NY LLC. Damashek has worked in the industry for 17 years. “Most of the housing stock there is from the 1950s and 60s, with newer complexes that are mostly townhouses. These draw downsizers that come from surrounding communities with higher taxes.”
