Privacy, farming and a quiet life along the Susquehanna River
When considering the tiny hamlet of Windsor, Pennsylvania as a place to settle, buy some land or even build a house. “Do you like your privacy? Do you like your space? Do you mind a small commute to almost everything? Do you like farming,” asks June Carver, a Realtor in York County for more than a dozen years. “These are the types of questions you need to ask yourself and then take it from there.” Leisurely located along the serene banks of the Susquehanna River, the borough of just over 1,000 people is a picturesque muse for rustic elegance. Historic colonial-style homes line the tree-lined streets alongside new colonials, while rows of craftsman-style homes with forgiving porches protrude into the neatly kept landscape. As for leisure, residents often find solace in Windsor's natural beauty, exploring nearby parks or enjoying riverfront strolls. Whether at the annual summer fair or the farmer's market, Windsor exudes a small-town charm that makes it worth a short commute to anywhere.
Colonial-inspired cottages and historical farms
In the picturesque hamlet of Windsor, quaint Colonial cottages stand alongside stately estates, each adorned with meticulous details that reflect the town's historical charm. But there are also horse farms that can abut a neighbor’s property. Narrow streets lined with towering oaks create an intimate atmosphere, inviting residents to stroll and connect with neighbors. Rows of craftsman-style homes with giant porches intermingle with new model colonials, with prices ranging from $150,000 to $500,000. Beyond the streets, the surrounding landscape unfolds into vast expanses of fertile farmland, as far as the eye can see, punctuated by the occasional Amish buggy clip-clopping along a dusty lane.
