Relatively new houses on at least an acre of land
Contemporary and Colonial Revival homes built between the 1990s and today typically sell for between $700,000 and $1.5 million in West Wrentham. Most houses are very spacious, with over 3,000 square feet of living space, multi-car garages and large parcels of land. “Most houses are on a big acre or two,” Cadorette says. "There is definitely more farmland.” Homes often sit out of sight of one another, separated by dense woods or large lawns.Local conservation land and weekend trips to Cape Cod and the Berkshires
Swaths of conservation land in West Wrentham offer recreational opportunities. One of the most popular spots in the neighborhood is Joe’s Rock. Here, locals hike up the cliff face and through the forest to catch sunsets and views of the pond below. “A lot of families and people with pets go there,” Molla says. Birchwold Farm is another local hiking area just across the road from Joe’s Rock, where visitors can enjoy views of rolling hills, woods and boulders. Molla also notes that Wrentham is within an hour’s drive of Cape Cod and Rhode Island beaches, both popular summer destinations. “A lot of people have second homes out there,” she says. The Berkshires, a mountain range that attracts visitors for its vibrant fall foliage, is also within a two hours’ drive west.Students attend a regional high school with highly-rated football team and band
Students in West Wrentham typically attend Delaney Elementary School, which has an A grade from Niche, for kindergarten through third grade. They continue to Charles E. Roderick School for fourth through sixth grades and finish at King Philip Middle School and King Philip High School. All three of these schools have B-plus grades from Niche. The King Philip Warriors football team has several championships under its belt, including the 2016, 2017 and 2023 Massachusetts State Championships. The school’s marching band, dubbed “The Pride and the Passion,” is also well-accredited, winning second place in the Open Class National Championships in 2022 among other titles.Theater in nearby Woonsocket and Gillette Stadium in Foxborough
The town of Wrentham hosts events nearby, including its free summer concert series, Concerts on the Common. “There’s not much there in the neighborhood, but there’s plenty you can drive to within 10 minutes,” Cadorette says. Just across the Rhode Island border, Stadium Theatre hosts a variety of performances, including tribute bands, comedy shows and plays. “They have a lot of up-and-coming actors; they did Polar Express and A Christmas Carol during Christmas,” Cadorette says. Ten miles east of West Wrentham in Foxborough is Gillette Stadium, the home turf of the New England Patriots NFL team. The stadium has a capacity of nearly 65,000 people and, in addition to football games, has hosted major acts like Taylor Swift and The Rolling Stones.Commuting from West Wrentham to Woonsocket, Worcester, Providence and Boston
Wrentham doesn’t have its own commuter rail line into Boston, but nearby towns including Foxborough and Norfolk have stations where commuters can park and ride into the city. West Wrentham’s central location makes it commutable to several major towns: drivers can get the 30 miles into Boston via Interstates 495 and 95. Providence, Rhode Island is also 18 miles south, and Woonsocket, home to CVS Health’s headquarters, is 7 miles west. Worcester is 30 miles northwest and is accessible via State Route 146. Providence and Boston both have international airports, and Milford, 15 miles northwest, has one of several regional hospitals.Local farmstands and Wrentham’s outlets
Thanks to its rural nature, West Wrentham has several farms that sell local produce, meats and other goods. Christine Molla, owner/broker of Costello Realty and local resident, recommends White Barn Farm: “It’s great. They have fresh organic vegetables, fresh meat and seafood,” she says. Cook’s Valley Farm has another popular farmstand. For more standard shopping trips, Shaw’s and Big Y World Class Market are both about 5 miles north in Franklin, and Wrentham Village Premium Outlets has retailers such as Lululemon and Adidas. Franklin has more local restaurants, such as Rome Restaurant, a relaxed, family-owned Italian spot, and La Cantina Winery, a contemporary venue serving charcuterie boards to pair with wine flights.
