Impressive marks for Wyoming City Schools
Students in Wyoming may attend Wyoming City Schools. Children may start at Hilltop Elementary School, which earned an A grade from Niche. In fifth grade, students move on to Wyoming Middle School, which also received an A grade from Niche. For the final four years of their K-through-12 experience, students attend Wyoming High School, which earned a perfect A-plus grade from Niche. Wyoming High is known for its athletics program, which has won the Cincinnati Hills League All-Sports trophy 18 times since 2000. The CHL All-Sports trophy is handed to the school with the best overall athletics program in a school year.

Several parks throughout the city provide residents with ample recreation opportunities. Wyoming is home to the second-oldest golf club in the Cincinnati metro area. Originally a six-hole course that crossed over streets and wrapped around houses, the course is now nine holes, offering your choice of a quick game or a leisurely 18 holes. Club members also have access to dining, tennis and swimming.

Wyoming hosts a concert series every summer. The concerts occur on the village green and feature live music, craft beer, wine and food. Wyoming Avenue shuts down every autumn for the Fall Festival. Vendors line the streets to sell art, crafts and food. There is also live entertainment throughout the day. The Wyoming Civic Center hosts an annual art show with over 125 regional fine arts exhibitors. Speaking of the Civic Center, this historic space has been around since 1884. Residents can host birthday parties, work events or even weddings at the Civic Center. Residents can also use the Candlepin bowling alley, a unique bowling form featuring skinny pins resembling candlesticks. There’s also a newcomer committee for new residents in the neighborhood. “They have events for anyone who has lived in Wyoming for two years or less,” Shetterly says. “They have anything from progressive dinners, mix and mingles, fall, winter parties.” Another popular community event is the May Fete, an annual all-day carnival that has been around since 1922. The events includes rides and games along with food.
