Sarah Lawrence College in suburban oasis near downtown Yonkers
Lawrence Park, 4 miles from downtown Yonkers and 20 miles from New York City, is an affluent community on the west side of Yonkers on the border of Westchester. Sarah Lawrence College sits in the center of the tree-covered neighborhood and attracts residents. “The majority of these young adults live in the area. I wouldn’t be surprised if you had some that lived in Dunwoodie and Lawrence,” says Yara Annechiarico, an owner and broker of At Home With Yara who has been working in the real estate industry for 24 years. Besides the university, residents live in the area for its proximity to New York City and local attractions such as the Cross County shopping centers and the Empire City Casino. “If you have children especially, you want to be over there,” says Annechiarico. “Even if you don’t, there’s so much to do.”
