Moxie is a planned neighborhood under construction just south of downtown Lockhart, spanning 689 acres and designed by Red Oak Development Group. The community will feature a variety of single-family home styles, including Craftsman, farmhouse, Tudor revival, European cottage, and New traditional, along with townhomes. The first phase, consisting of over 400 lots, is expected to have model homes completed by summer 2026. Moxie will include an elementary and middle school within its boundaries, and students will be zoned to the Lockhart Independent School District, which allows for campus-to-campus or out-of-district transfers. The neighborhood will emphasize walkability and outdoor living, with miles of trails, parks, a greenbelt, and pools. Additionally, a buried watercourse will be revitalized to support the local ecosystem. Future plans include a retail area, a grab-and-go restaurant, and live-work units. Nearby dining options in downtown Lockhart include Terry Black’s Barbecue, Old Pal Bar, Commerce Cafe, and Chaparral Cantina.
