Hileman Heights is a small Altoona neighborhood bordered by the Allegheny Mountains. Developed primarily after World War II, the neighborhood has several apartment complexes and fewer than 100 single family houses. Styles include Cape Cods, ranch-style homes, bungalows and some larger American Foursquare, Colonial Revival and traditional homes. Most homes are well maintained and landscaped yards with seasonal decorations. Many residential streets are named after birds and are lined with mature trees, giving the area a quieter, more contained feel than nearby neighborhoods.
