Why Live in Sacred Heart

Along the Concord River, Sacred Heart consists of residential sectors situated around a central thoroughfare and the sprawling grasses of an expansive cemetery. The cemetery is in turn flanked by a pair of main roads, with smaller, quiet side-streets featuring single-family homes. . “You have commercial in the middle and residential on the sides,” says Jefri Liriano, the principal broker and owner of Liriano Realty. “It’s broken by Gorham Street, which is Route 3A. It’s cool because it connects you with everything – you can go to New Hampshire or down south.” Gorham Street runs through the middle of the neighborhood, and is lined with businesses, restaurants and bus stops. Events dot the annual calendar as well: The local fair marks the start of summer, and fall brings out sports fans eager to cheer for the UMass-Lowell River Hawks. The residential portions of the neighborhood flank Gorham Street and the cemeteries, with most of the sections sitting in eastern and northwestern Sacred Heart, and options for home buyers vary widely. “In that specific area, you’re going to see a lot of singles, but you’re also going to see multi-family homes and a lot of condos,” Liriano says.
