The Texas State Highway Loop 289 borders the neighborhood and encircles the city, allowing access to anywhere in Lubbock. Like much of the city, South Lubbock has gridded streets lined with sidewalks and manicured front and backyards. The area is growing and expanding, says Sellers. Homes are in the Minimal Traditional and ranch styles, ranging from $125,000 to $235,000. Recently built homes are in the New Traditional style and range from $529,000 to $700,000. While the area has more homeowners, making up 55% of residents, it is also a renter-friendly area, with renters making up 45% of residents.
