The 80,000-person city of Mansfield, south of Arlington between Dallas and Fort Worth, is a growing suburban community sought primarily for its school district. The city has a mix of residential neighborhoods and retail developments, with highway access connecting to the rest of the metroplex. "People move to Mansfield for the schools," says resident Angie Thor with Coldwell Banker APEX Realtors. "Once you've narrowed it down to Mansfield, it's all about, 'What can I afford?' North Mansfield is older Mansfield, so if somebody likes the charm and the trees, that's where they'll look." North Mansfield has a mix of single-family homes, apartments and townhouses, with a little over half of residents owning their properties. "This is older Mansfield with larger lots and lots of trees," Thor says. "People like that." Most homes in North Mansfield are brick new traditional homes built in the 2000s with three to five bedrooms.
