Why Live in Painted Tree
In the community of Painted Tree, located on the northern edge of McKinney, walkability is king. “One of the things that differentiates us from other master planned communities is that we are a trailside community,” says Pam Shields, community engagement officer. “We have 25 miles of trails throughout the community, which goes along with our whole premise, which is back to nature and the outdoors.”
This community started construction in 2022 and is divided into three subdivisions: Woodland District, Lakeside District and Village District; each one offers its own amenity center and trail network. Homes are closer together with smaller lawn sizes and decorative trees. Sections of the community remain undeveloped, with several sections of heavily forested areas with oak trees. The community is still under construction with around 1,000 homes completed out of 3,400. There are more than 20 miles of trails snaking through the community, offering residents a mix of natural and paved surfaces. The community has several amenity centers, featuring pools, grassy areas, and playgrounds. Shields says the community sponsors events, including crafting workshops, outdoor movies, and holiday
