Why Live in Medway

Originally spelled “Midway,” the Boston suburb Medway is believed by some to have gotten its name because it’s at the center point between Boston, Worcester and Providence. Others argue that the town is named for the Medway region of England. It’s unanimous among locals, however, that Medway is a great place to attend school, enjoy nature and purchase a home. Sherri Hannon, Director of Programs with the Tri-County Regional Chamber of Commerce, describes the town as “charming, quaint and lovely.” The average price of a Medway home is between $650,000 and $700,000. Here you’ll see a variety of single-family home styles, as well as a few condominiums. You’ll find 2014 colonial craftsman-style homes priced around $750,000 within the Charles River Village Condo neighborhood. There are 2016 colonials on half-acre lots on Lantern Lane near the interstate and shopping areas. On Causeway Street, a narrow, wooded roadway, you’ll see Garrison-style homes and 1970s Dutch colonials that are priced just below $690,000. You’ll also see newly constructed colonials for about $845,000, 1950s ranch-style homes and two-bedroom condominium units within large 1880s residences. Students in town are
