Why Live in Middlesex

Located between Raleigh and Rocky Mount, Middlesex offers country living with access to amenities in larger cities. There's a range of housing options here, from established farmhouses to new construction in recently developed subdivisions. Prices tend to be more affordable than closer to Raleigh or Rocky Mount, and you can get more space for your money. The trade off, though, is that Middlesex is pretty rural. Some buyers like that it's a 10-mile drive to the nearest grocery store, located in Zebulon, with a much larger commercial presence. In Middlesex's town center, though, you will find a few local businesses, including Wiggs Family Restaurant and Premier Propane and Hardware. There are also lots of local farms and farm stands nearby, which sell produce and plants. Students attend the highly rated Nash County Public Schools district. For things to do, you can hike through Flower Hill Natural Area, play sports at Bailey-Middlesex Community Park or check out a book from the Middlesex Public Library. More attractions can be found in nearby city centers, including Wilson, Raleigh and Rocky Mount, which are all within 35 miles. Major regional and national routes run through town, making commutes easy.
