Embraced by three of Middletown’s major avenues, the neighborhood of Euclid Heights-Runnymede offers proximity to shopping, parks and downtown in addition to a well-established character. “People in that area have lived in their homes for quite a while, so there’s not a big turnover,” says Paul Renwick, a Realtor with Renwick Realty who has sold real estate in Middletown for over 30 years. “You’ll maybe get four to six sales a year. It’s a very well-maintained area, and values will be anywhere from $500,000 to $2 million.” For those who manage to secure a property in this part of town, they will have the chance to weave themselves into a strong cultural fabric created over the course of a century. Euclid Heights-Runnymede is one of Middletown’s oldest sections. “Euclid has much older homes there, built in the 1900s-1930s range, but they’re much larger homes,” Renwick says. “They’re 3,000-5,000 square feet at least, some bigger than that, and they have half-acre lots. A couple of them are three quarters of an acre.” These early-20th-century properties are often passed down through generations of Middletown residents without any need for sale, but residences built in the latter
