Why Live in Greenwood

A few miles from downtown Midland, Greenwood is a small subdivision within walking distance of churches, schools and a park. “What we lack for the scenery, we make up for in the people,” says Kerri Payne James, a Realtor who owns The Agency KPJ and sells all over Midland. “When people come to Midland, they love our community.” Residents have easy commuting access with a major interstate to the south. Homes vary from brand new to older investment properties in need of renovations. The neighborhood has no HOA. The majority of Greenwood's homes are bungalows constructed between the early and mid-1950s, but there is also newer construction, with some houses built as recently as 2025. Properties tend to sit close together on an average of less than a quarter of an acre with fenced-in backyards. The neighborhood is primarily set up in a grid of wide paved streets and narrower dirt roads in between rows of houses, except for the short cul-de-sacs off Cloverdale Road. Single-family homes range from just under $90,000 to $340,000. Homes here stay on the market for an average of 15 days, compared to the national average of 47.
