On the west side of Midland, Wilshire is an established neighborhood near some of the city’s entertainment hot spots and major roadways. Texas state Highway Loop 250 runs to the west, leading toward commercial areas and continuing through the city. Because most properties in Wilshire were built between the 1950s and ‘70s, they often have established lawns, and mature trees line the sidewalks. “It’s a great area to take a walk,” Perkins says. Small brick cottages and ranch-style homes are common, and potential homebuyers can find houses in the neighborhood for between $150,000 and $300,000, depending on the size, age and condition.
