Why Live in Wilderness Rim

Wilderness Rim is a residential development in the Snoqualmie Valley, about 5 miles south of North Bend. The name fits the setting; proximity to the mountains comes with scenery and recreational perks. "It's a really cool area. If I was commuting into Bellevue or Seattle, I'd take being out here over other locations. You get more seasons and snow than other places," says Bart Chmielewski, a real estate agent with Windermere Real Estate/PSK Inc. Many of the homes were built in the 1960s to the '90s. Ramblers and split-levels are among the options, and remodeled and renovated homes are typical. There are few houses on the market at a time, but prices over a year as of April 2025 were in the $600,000s to $800,000s. "You can still get a nice house on a nice piece of land for under $1 million. But that limit may soon be pushed. There are communities around Wilderness Rim that run $1.2 to $1.8 million," says James Doerfel, a designated broker with Prime Realty. Students may attend schools in the well-regarded Snoqualmie Valley School District. Edwin R. Opstad Elementary School and Twin Falls Middle School earn A-minus grades from Niche. Mount Si High School also has an A-minus and
