Why Live in Crescent Beach
Crescent Beach has long attracted tourists seeking the sand and sun on South Carolina’s Grand Strand. Once its own municipality, Crescent Beach merged with Cherry Grove, Ocean Drive and Windy Hill beaches to create North Myrtle Beach in 1968. Since then, high-rise and mid-rise condos have been built, dominating the oceanfront. Still, many quaint older homes remain, giving the beach a cozy, residential feel. “Crescent Hill and Windy Hill are the most residential of any of the beaches [in North Myrtle Beach]. You have your more affordable residential in these areas,” says Kemp Nash, Realtor at Century 21 Coastal Lifestyles and lifelong North Myrtle Beach resident. “For Crescent, it’s still a golf cart ride to the beach, it’s a golf cart ride to Ocean Drive.” Two-bedroom condo units on the water usually sell for between $250,000 and $530,000. Gridded streets stretch out for several blocks behind the beach and have single-family homes and townhouses. Many of these properties were built in the second half of the 20th century and include modest ranch-style houses and coastal cottages. Other homes include newly constructed cottages with two-car garages in the 55-plus community near
